This session will showcase a Force and Motion Carnival...come ready to build! Use the grant goodies as part of WIN time and the Page Keely Probes to enhance critical thinking.
Discover how to captivate students in active, hands-on lessons and prepare them for real-world problems with Challenge Based Learning. Participants will investigate strategies to promote student engagement, differentiate for advanced learners, and fuse technology to creatively design and produce a product. Participants will curate thoughts and ideas as well as explore new avenues of learning for the science classroom.
This session will focus on strategies to help support ELL students and reluctant/quiet students on vocabulary in science as well as using active reading and writing skills in science.
Work with Think Big Learning for vocabulary acquisition and struggling SEs for science grades 5-8. This session will come with strategies and lessons to take back to intermediate and middle school grades for the fall.
This session is an off site session. It will take place at the Oliver Nature Center. It is an outdoor session so please plan accordingly (tennis shoes, hats, sunblock and water).The session will focus on how animals have to get MAD in order to survive and how these adaptation are based on where they live and their physical features.

This session will take place at the Oliver Nature Center. Please plan accordingly ( tennis shoes, hat, water, sunblock). There's an app for that...learn about the iNaturalist app and how students and teachers can use it to identify plants and animals in the Oliver Nature Center.
This is an off site session that will take place at the Dallas Arboretum. The session will focus on one of their TEKS pods in the children's garden, allow teachers to see what a field trip experience at the Garden would look like and time to self explore with the GooseChase game.
